Vermiculite is effective growing medium used in compost formulation with cocopeat. It improves aeration in soil, promotes a consistent release of added fertilizer and improves moisture retention of the soil.

Gardening

Vermiculite improves soil quality by aerating it, retaining water and nutrients, and promoting healthy root growth. It can be used in raised beds, in-ground, and in containers. You can mix it with soil at a ratio of ⅓ to ½. 
 

Seed germination
Vermiculite can be used alone or mixed with soil or peat to germinate seeds. For large seeds, mix them with vermiculite in a bag and keep it in a warm place. When the seeds start to germinate, plant them in small pots or trays. 
 

Hydroponics
Vermiculite can be used as a growing medium in hydroponic systems. It provides water and nutrient retention, aeration, and supports plant growth without soil. 
 

Construction
Vermiculite is used in construction as loose-fill insulation in walls and attics. It can also be mixed with concrete to create lightweight, insulating materials. 
 

Fireproofing and soundproofing
Vermiculite can be used in spray-on fireproofing for steel structures and to enhance soundproofing in walls and ceilings. 
 

Other uses
Vermiculite is also used in the paint industry, as lubricants, and as a packing material. 
 

Vermiculite is lightweight, non-toxic, sterile, and has a neutral pH.
